THE PROBLEM

Most collectors end up with a spreadsheet, or five different apps

Category-specific collector tools exist for cards, vinyl, and coins separately, but a collector with more than one hobby ends up stitching together spreadsheets and marketplace watchlists just to see what they own.

HOW IT WAS BUILT

One structured tracker across every category

OmniCollect is a React and Firebase app that treats MTG cards, vinyl records, coins, stamps, and rare books as variations on the same underlying problem — structured items with value that changes over time.

A Recharts-driven dashboard surfaces value trends per category and across the whole collection, backed by Firebase Auth and Firestore for sync across devices.

INSIDE THE PRODUCT

Core surfaces that define the experience

Log

Add items across five collection types

Cards, vinyl, coins, stamps, and rare books all log into the same structured item model, so tracking a mixed collection doesn’t require separate tools.

One data model for every hobby.

Value

Watch value change over time

Each item carries a value history rather than a single static estimate, turning collection worth into something trackable rather than guessed at.

A chart, not a one-time appraisal.

Sync

The same collection everywhere

Firebase Auth and Firestore keep a collection consistent across devices without a bespoke backend.

Built on infrastructure that already scales.

KEY FEATURES

What makes it work

One Dashboard, Every Category

MTG cards, vinyl, coins, stamps, and rare books all live in one dashboard instead of a separate category-specific app for each collection.

Value Tracked Over Time

Each item carries a value history rather than a single static price, so a collection’s worth is something you can actually chart, not just estimate once.

Firebase-Backed Sync

Auth and Firestore keep a collection in sync across devices without building a bespoke backend for what’s fundamentally a structured-data problem.

WORKFLOW

How a collection gets tracked

OmniCollect is built around logging items once and watching their value over time.

01

Add an item to a category

A card, record, coin, stamp, or book logs into the shared collection model.

02

Track value as it changes

Value history builds per item, feeding category and whole-collection dashboards.

03

Access it from any device

Firebase-backed sync keeps the collection consistent everywhere it’s opened.
